Coyote Hills Regional Park, next to the toll station of Dumbarton Bridge, offers easy hikes, rich wildlifes and great sceneries of San Francisco bay for hikers of all ages. The park is composed of marsh ponds and small hills. The highest point, Red Hill, is no more than 300 feet and easily accessible. If you're interested in easy hikes or runnings, this is the right place for you. The park is also famous for its marsh...

An easy stroll at a Bay shoreline gem, perfect for even the smallest hiker. We found ourselves with a beautiful "winter" day, and a desire to try somewhere other than our usual haunts. So we hopped across the Bay to Coyote Hills Regional Park, just north of the Dumbarton Bridge. Coyote Hills is interesting in that it has some nearly 300' high natural hills right on the Bay, something unusual in the South...

This is one of my regular loop rides at Coyote Hills.  Starting from the dirt parking lot on Paseo Padre, I ride into the park entrance on Patterson Ranch Road and go right just past the entrance kiosk onto the Chochenyo trail.  From there just follow my route on the Google map.

Day after Christmas Coyote Hills Mud Run

Took a short loop ride with Jimbo G. at Coyote Hills to burn off some of that Holiday food.  Trails were muddy and tires got loaded up.  Coming down Soaproot trail got a little hairy once the tires were caked and traction was minimal.  Winter time motto is...."if you ain't gettin' dirty, you ain't havin' any fun!"

I am a sucker for lush green rolling hills and bright orange Californian Poppies I have been hiking this trail in my dreams ever since I hiked it in real life.

Pretty and green, by the Bay. It looks (and is) small but it has a lot of diversity within the park, and is especially nice in the spring when the hills are glowing green. Don't expect much shade. A bonus is the flower garden by the visitor center.
