Drive to the end of Alpine road and start walking. Shady, green and gorgeous, but avoid the omnipresent poison oak and occasional rattler. Good mountain biking spot too.
A nice ride with a fair bit of single track and double track. Some great views, especially when the wild flowers are out, and plenty of wildlife. This particular day it was rather hot and a fair bit of the ride is in the open which drains when the temp is over 90F.
