Actually 12.6 mile trip. (I forgot to turn on GPS until 1.7 miles in). Typical Missouri Oak and Hickory Hardwood forest. Very secluded and I saw no other people during the entire 5 hours. The trail is not maintained other than to remove large trees on the trail. At times it was very difficult to follow because of overgrowth and lack of use. A gorgeously sunny and warm day in December - no excuses acceptable for not hiking. Hiked and scoped out the Bell Mountain Wilderness for future backpacking trips. Will definitely go back! Lotta cool places to explore that didn't have time for today.

Hiked Bell Mtn Wilderness with St Louis Nature Meetup group.
Out and back on the OT and then connector trail to Bell Mtn, from the hwy A trail head. Just went to where connector joins with Bell Mtn loop. Was hoping to also make it to Peter Cave Hollow, but started getting very dark and looked like it might storm or rain heavy so called it a day.
