Today I summited Mt. Hood, the highest point in Oregon at 11,240 feet. My climbing partners were Matt, Jason, and Drew from CMRU and Justin Broderson from OSU. It was a first summit for Drew, Justin, and I while Matt has been up several times before. We drove up late Saturday night to camp overnight in our vehicles in the Timberline Ski Area Parking lot. We arrived to find ourselves nestled among news...
I decided to make this hike as part of a camping trip to Sherwood campground. The nice thing about Sherwood is that you can walk to the trailhead from the campground and not have to pay the Forest pass day use fee. We combined this hike with picking up the three geocaches on the trail while we were at it. I took my two 8 year old kids and they did great...

We managed to crank through alot of runs because the snow was nearly perfect and the terrain was...
Skiing on New Years Eve at Mt. Hood Meadows, a wonderful time with great snow, food, and delicious drinks.

I got to the campground around 6pm after getting a bite to eat at Government Camp after skiing. After a few hours of writing in my journal to Ellie, and rating my absurd amount of MP3's on my ipod...
Had great weather to tackle this one. I took my two 8 year olds with me and wasn't exactly sure what we were in for, other than what I had read in a couple hiking books. After a short trip on a dirt road (4410) off Hwy 44 to get to the trailhead, we grabbed a quick geocache in the area. Once on the trail, it was nice and wide and pretty...
