I was supposed to do the marathon, but chickened out. Luckily there was a 15k race on basically the same course, so all I had to do was go left instead of right. The best part of the race is the bridge from Asia to Europe right at the beginning so there wasn't even a very compelling reason to run the whole marathon after that. The course was wonderful with a surprising amount...

Explore Istanbul in A Day - Istanbul two Continents Sightseeing TripThe fabled capital of three great empires - Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman, Istanbul is steeped in almost 3,000 years of history. The greatest concentration of landmarks is found in Istanbul's oldest district, Sultanahmet, an awe-inspiring expanse of leafy parks, Byzantine cathedrals, Greek statuary, bustling bazaars and imposing mosques with towering, slender minarets. A little history of the sights GOLDEN HORN (from the bus)The arm of...

Istanbul - Cistern

We arrived very early in Istanbul and had the opportunity to see how the city wakes up. We walked from the bus station through neighborhoods awaking from the singing from the mosques, through Cemetery - Park to get to the historical part of the city exactly when it was awake.   Пристигнахме много рано в Истанбул и имахме възможността да видим как градът се събужда. Вървяхме от автогарата през събуждащи се квартали от пеенето от джамийте, през гробище – парк, за да...

Istanbul is one of the greatest cities in the world. You can enjoy every moment you spend in Istanbul if you go there with an open mind. My recommendation for everyone is to take a look at the offerings of this unique tour company called iLOVEyouTurkey: www.iloveyouturkey.com

The rest is easy!
Cheers

One of my favourite holidays was in Istanbul, its outstanding because all the historical sites are in the old city area; which is very small compared to modern city standards. The weathers hot, there's more than enough to see and some of the sights are totally mesmeric. You can also get return ferries up and down the Bosphorus for decent prices. The only problems are the locals can be irritating telling you to come into their restaurant and the sun can be "too" hot sometimes.
