Trail "Le Pain de Sucre" pour monter, decente par la colline bruler
We'd wanted to check out the snow shoe trails at Whitewater Ski Resort near Neson and today was the day. Our first stop was the lodge for lunch with some downhill skiing friends and then we hit the trails toward Hummingbird Pass. The clouds were low and it was snowly lightly so distand views were not visible this day. We'll have to come back another time and explore further.

Members of the Yukon Chapter of the Alpine Club of Canada, the Carcross/Tagish First Nations, the Yukon Business Development Project (YBDP), and others went along on a snowshoe/ski to scout possible locations for a hut system on Montana Mountain, Yukon. We travelled "backwards" up the Mountain Hero bike trail from the South Klondike Highway near Conrad, up to the high point of the trail.
Attempted to find Grizzly cabin but were unsuccessful. Fresh deep snow hid the trail from view and we didn't know the way. We'll try again next year.
To start, park in the main parking lot at Silver Star and make your way to the Shuttle Bus pickup (free). Ask the driver to let you off at 670 Monashee and they will drop you off. The trailhead is just to the left of this house (All snowshoe trails are marked either by a snowshoe on a post, or an orange pole in the snow). Go down until you merge with...
This trail is located in West Bragg Creek and is located just inside the Kananaskis, Alberta border. It was -8 degrees today but we didn't feel the cold. This trail has many inclines and declines but the last km is mainly decline. Wonderful trail, well groomed. There are numerous trails for snowshoeing, cross country skiing and winter cycling. Dogs are welcome!

Destination was Dam Mtn., via Grouse Mtn. (BCMC trail). Return home as at 4:45 PM. (Data on the stats chart is for the way to Dam Mtn. only ...)
Welcome to Moose Creek Loop Trail found on the south loop of the Jumping Pound Demonstration Forest Road. The road in today was lowed and we were pleased to see people enjoying a camp fire in the picnic area by the parking lot. Birds were chirping, the sun was shining and the view was wonderful on this New Years Day adventure. This is a 2.7 km hike that is...

What a great day today on the snowshoe trails in West Bragg Creek. 21 cm of fresh snow, 11 degrees out with sun shining brightly over head. Boundary Ridge views were amazing and you spend most of the trail hiking through forested terrain. There were approximately six passes over cross country ski trails.
De beaux sentiers dans ce beau site en face du domaine qui s'appelle le sentier de la gare (hiver seulement). Frais de 3$ par personne via autoperception.
A friend of mine sent me a photo and YouTube video of this place on Monday, Feb 11, asking if I had ever been here. I said "No, but now I want too". She said a bunch of her friends were going up to this cave, have a few drinks and other things...so I told her I better get there before the carnage - because there may be no ice cave after they...
From Norquay parking lot - trail entrance is by green sign near entrance to the parking lot.
The actual Map is incorrect. The area that was hiked was all on land. Some bushwhacking was involved. The Black River point can be made into a loop if you bushwhack for just a couple hundred meters.
