High Junk Peak
by acc6287 on Jan 20, 2012
Clear Water Bay, Hong Kong
Hiking | 4.7 miles
From www.afcd.gov.hk

A trail passes closely the dump site at TKO south area. A completely different views from both sides of the trail. Beautiful country views with ridges, beaches and islands on the east side... but a dump sites on the west side which is surrounded by thousands of home, what a bloody hell, smell from the dump sites is noticed along the trail with southernly wind, obviously the smell should reach the few-million dollar homes...

South Lantao - Shek Pik to Pui O
by Baydiscoverer on Oct 31, 2009
Shui Hau, Lantau Island, Hong Kong
Hiking | 11.3 miles
This trip covers two sections of the Lantau Trail, from Shek Pik to Shui Hau and further on to Pui O. At the very start, there are some ancient rock carvings, however not very well visible. The best part of the road is the way around the peninsula before coming back to the main road; nice overgrown paths, great vistis of mountain and sea, nestled between the Lantau Peak and the channel...

Great walk ! We took the Ferry from Central to Mui Wo at 9:10 (25 minutes if you get the "fast ferry"), and then a few minutes taxi to Nam Shan. Then, we started the ascension to the Sunset Peak. Very beautiful view on the way up, although the weather was a little cloudy. From the end of the walk, we took a taxi back to Mui Wo and still had plenty...

Hiking | 9.4 miles
Despite the 30+c brilliant sunshine; the steep and mostly shaded ascents to hilltops with 360 degree water views, followed by descents to secluded beaches only reachable by walking - or by sea - with two of them offering cold drinks from local restaurants, all goes to make this a particularly great hike - for any time of the year!

Hong Kong Peak to Pok Fu Lam
by Wahbiang on Nov 07, 2010
Central District, Hong Kong
Hiking | 1.9 miles
We are running out of islands to explore. We decided to go hiking at Pok Fu Lam Country Park today. With the help of the iPhone and its GPS, I am able to record our trail (photos, speed, distance and timing) on the “EveryTrail” application. This is just so amazing. Looking on the published map and the trail we recorded, we are able to trace back our trail and see those “landmark”...

Tai Tam Tuk Reservoir
by Wahbiang on Nov 14, 2010
To Tei Wan, Hong Kong
Hiking | 2.1 miles
After last week’s hike down the Peak, we are all looking forward for another exciting hike this weekend. This time, we decided to explore the iconic 92-year old Tai Tam Tuk Reservoir. This reservoir which was built in 1912 and completed in 1918, is classified as Hong Kong’s Grade 1 Historic Site.  The giant reservoir dam, the “castle-looking” Valve House and the bricked Masonry Bridges are key (pre-World War II) attractions of...

by CHK on Jan 16, 2011
Sham Tseng, Hong Kong
Hiking | 7.4 miles

by CHK on Apr 03, 2011
Ngau Liu, Hong Kong
Hiking | 10.2 miles
