Good Water Loop Trail
by mikef on Jan 25, 2010
Russell Crossing, Texas, United States
Backpacking | 7.9 miles
Started solo at Cedar Breaks on 1/25/10 at 12:00pm finsihed the entire loop on 1/26/10 at 3:30pm. Trail can be rugged. Some areas dry, hilly, rocky, and devoid of trees. While other areas damp, hilly, with lots of trees. Other areas flat bottom lands. Some areas loaded with cactus. Every 5 miles offers something new. During my trip there was lots of flowing water. I crossed lots of clear streams, some appeared to be spring fed. I saw only three people in the first 2 miles. The...

Good Water Trail- Lake Georgetown
by atxtodd on Oct 09, 2010
Georgetown, Texas, United States
Backpacking | 6.0 miles
Planned the trip to make it all the way around the lake 26miles, we didnt get on the trail until 12:15 and it was hot (90) with little breeze in the woods. The trail was a lot more difficult than expected do to terrain. Mountain bikers where all walking back with cuts.  We made it to Cedar Hollow camp and after much debate decided to push further. The trail disappears to overgrowth....

Northshore Trail multi-day with Johnny
by gnslngr45 on Nov 13, 2010
Flower Mound, Texas, United States
Backpacking | 8.1 miles
Hiked from Rockledge Park through Murrell Park and on to Twin Coves Park. Then back to Murrell to stay overnight before returning to Rockledge.    The map only shows half our trip. The data for the return was not accurate. I only had my GPS marking every 5 minutes to save battery (my phone), so this was actually a longer hike with all the twists & turns the GPS overlooked. We estimate about...

I don't have a GPS so I found a gpx file that was similar to the trip a friend of mine and I took on our backpacking trip in Big Bend National Park. We started by heading up Pinnacles Trail which is steep and difficult. We then cut across to where Laguna Meadows Trail meets the South Rim Trail and took the South Rim Trail to our primitive campsite. The next day...

Lewisville Environmental
by munchkin511 on Oct 28, 2012
Lewisville, Texas, United States
Backpacking | 5.6 miles
Lewisville Environmental Area was a fun adventure. Only drawback was a $5 a person fee to enter the area, we thought it was over priced. But, it's right by a dam and some beautiful photo opportunities. there are hi and lo blinds for wildlife viewing. Also wood ducks and a beaver dam we saw.We were by ourselves, a family fishing near the dam, but no one else hiking. One with nature.
