Trips
A fun trip to McMinnville, OR to visit the Air and Space Museum. What fun! I flew down and Lisa flew back with Jim as co-pilot.

Flight training - 3 take offs / 3 landings - 2 by touch and go - practiced slow flight 40-50mph and control - turns - rudder control
Flight #3 included turns around a point and box pattern - 3 take off / landings - more slow flight and turns while in slow position
Tight turns - practiced a single stall - 5 take offs / landings - low clouds but eventually burned off and was a nice flight
First landing at Albany airport - 3000' runway in a nearby town. Power ON Stalls - Power OFF Stalls - tight turns - 4 to / landings - 1 go around - still so much to learn
Practiced simulated engine failure / field landing / emergency landing procedures / slip left / slip right / forward slip / 4 take offs & landings
Simulated engine failure - turns - instrument flying - 5 total landings - 2 totally unassisted
Practice Practice Practice - 5 touch and go
Practiced more 5 take offs / landings / airspace management - used a different C172 due to the fact that my usual trainer airplane was in a photo shoot - particular focus on landing with nose up attitude
More landing practice - soft field landing on a private grass landing strip after simulated engine failure - steep turns - patterns and more airport landing practice - 5 touch / gos
Practice Practice Practice - more landings / touch and gos / one go around / winds 13kts w/ gusts up to 17 made for a fun day
This was a fun trip - first time in class D airspace - learned about tower communications, requests for landing clearance, performed more touch / gos, landing under no power, landing in a slip, patterns in a tower controlled airspace
Many more touch and gos - no assistance from instructor - getting closer to solo
All solo tests completed and passed - I can solo at any time that I'm ready. 10 kts of headwind today - more touch and go practice
More touch and gos - short field and soft field landings - HOT DAY today!!
