I believe this is my sixth ride since September and it is the first time I have felt healthy since the summer of 2008. My GPS could not find a satellite for a mile or so into the ride; that has never happened when I have used GPS on a sunny day. Low fitness, great weather, and I believe I'll be able to get back to 15 hours/week on the bike.
Phil Little and I, out-of-shape ex-racers and racer wannabes, started off with current racer Andrea. I rode a lot better than yesterday, credence to my thought that I had a bad day. I climbed Catoctin Hollow much faster than yesterday. I got up to 47.4 mph today, the GPS data has a few inaccurate high speeds.

Got out with the Wheelbase ride on a very wet morning. About 30 riders
with about 6 racers doing some fast stretches with a few attacks. I
felt good and easily managed to meet every challenge with a few
counterattacks thrown in. I have not felt good in a couple of weeks, so

Pulled out my fixed gear again, 45.0 miles, 19.2 mph moving average,
comfortable the entire ride except one smash-mouth sprint up a sharp
ascent. I was sleepy before the ride, fine during the ride, and then
sleepy afterward, lack of sleep is not conducive to motivation or
recovery.

67.2 miles. Did a bit of hard tempo to Taneytown and then tried to survive coming back. I bonked with about 10 miles to go. Hot and a bit of wind. Only 17.1 mph moving speed. Water break was a bit long and dropped the average to 16 mph, not that it matteredl; I only did one section hard and I should not have done that.
