The
Road to Hana is very well-documented in tour books and I imagine online
as well. It’s a pretty easy drive, although the road is one-lane at
times which may intimidate some not used to such things. It is best done
in a smaller vehicle and more care will be needed if you’re in a Hummer
or a Lincoln Town Car or whatnot. Is
it worth the time and effort? That will...
Mauna Kea is a dormant volcano standing 13,796 ft above sea level, its peak is the highest point in the state of Hawaii. Thanksgiving2008 : Drive up Haleakala on Maui for sunrise on Thankgiving
Airport Village, Hawaii, United States
Driving | 64 miles
Driving | 64 miles
Up at 4:15am to drive from Kahana to the top of Haleakala to catch the sunrise on Thanksgiving Day, 2008. Sunrise at 6.37am local time, in the bitterly cold pre-dawn gale force winds. Some opted to huddle in the observation hut while others braved the freezing howl to get the full experience... and a few blurry pictures.
A drive down South Point Rd to the most Sourthern part of the US. From there, a drive up the coast to the Green Sand Beach.
