This was my first trip to this nice park. There are gorgeous oaks and some swamp areas where birds can be spotted. In fact, the Audubon Society had been there the day before and logged 53 species. I arrived at about 10:30 or so after a hike in the Panama City Nature Park. Mostly saw robins that were migrating through, but did see a great Blue Heron, Brown Pelican, Seagull, Great Egret...
WHEW!! Over twelve miles logged today while participating in the annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count. We spotted 41 different species at the Medalist Country Club in Hobe Sound, FL.Oh, the twelve-plus miles wasn't all that difficult. They gave us a complimentary golf cart to use. However the temps were in the low 40s with a 15-20 mph wind, making a 7 am start pretty cold!
