Start the trip at the Canoe launch at the back of the gravel parking lot across from Autzen Stadium. This lot is off Leo Harris Parkway just next to the foot bridge. The paddle has gentle current and no waves. Ideal for beginners and a great quick workout for experts.

This was one of my first trips on my new SUP!  I was so fortunate that we had great October weather -- in the 80's!  Despite the warm temps, there was no one in the bay and I had it all to myself to explore.   No winds and the surface was smooth.  I saw several ponies in the marsh and many birds.  I even paddled with a blue crab for a couple...
