Trips
The mission was to try to find a way to connect from the
east side trails of Scott’s Run to the Potomac Heritage Trail. No luck even
after bushwhacking but got to some really nice unmarked overlooks of the
Potomac River.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

This is a great mountian bike ride if you have someone to pick you up at the bottom, or take the shuttle from Spooner Lake. You can only start at Tahoe Meadows on even days of the month with a bike. There are some advanced and technical areas of the trail, and it is mostly down hill, but does have some steep uphill for a short sections. The ridge trail has great...
Awesome workout! Started at the Clairemont Mesa Trail Head, made my way to the S Curve and on to the steps of South Fortuna. Hiked along the mesa and back through Suycott Valley.
This day I hiked from Happy Isles to view of Vernal Falls and back, via the horse trail in Yosemite. See also: https://picasaweb.google.com/ron.mcf/VernalFallsViewLoopHike32613
We were expecting a mellow spring ski day. Instead we got winter, with 14F at the start and only 30F at the end. We even had to stop for a warmup break in the morning. Thanks to the 5:00 closing we were able to get in over 30,000 vertical feet and about 30 miles of skiing in 31 runs, to break a couple of records. On top of that, we had blue...

Like yesterday with Kyle, I wanted to get one last ride in with Zach before he went back to school. Our new neighbor Eric is a big time sledder from the Red Creek, Fairhaven area. He invited us to take the sleds to ride with him and his friends as they had received pretty good lake effect snow last week. We dropped at a restaurant on route 104 and rode North on...
Walk near the pond and woods at Piedmont Community College, the Saturday afternoon, 5 January 2013.
Found a great bike/walking trail along the waterfront in Port Angeles today, the Olympic Discovery Trail. I rented a bike from Sound Bikes in town and rode 5 miles east on trail. If you stay on trail, you will end up in Sequim and south end of Sequim Bay, where it currently ends. Someday it will end in Port Townsend, on the east end and the ocean, on the west end.
Enjoyed a great day hike that began early in the morning on the South Kaibab trail and finished at the top of the Bright Angel trailhead.
Coyote > Cholla > Top of the World > Meadows
Nice hike of primitive trails and one fire road.
Walking with my two boys around the island in segments.
