Trips
A ride down one of Europe's longest rivers. The trail closely follows that given in books 1,2 & 3 of the excellent Bikeline Rhein-Radweg books. Note that the gps trail as shown is my actual un-edited ride so contains quite a few 'getting lost' bits plus I suspect some quite illegal manoveures, follow it at your own risk! The ride is a mixture of roads, paved cycleways & dirt tracks. There are many...
A nice ride from Zurich going east and south to the hilly parts of the Kanton. The weather and roads were perfect. The final climb up to Bachtel was quite tough on a road bike requiring at least 25 in the back, but the view was worth it. Additionally the cafe we stopped at in Sitzberg had perhaps one of the least friendly waitresses I have ever encountered but darned-good apple streudel...
So I was reading lance's twitter and he said he climbed Verbier and it was a great post-flight climb. So, I, having nothing better to do, decided to go try it out for myself, then I could bask in glory as I watch stage 15 of the TdF and they all suffer through it.I also was able to enjoy one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. It was called Provencale,...
Bad weather in zurich means another saturday in Ticino. We didn't really have a plan we just thought we'd ride the train and explore around where the weather was good. We ended up in Como and had a dinner and beer on the lake, did some grocery shopping, and then took the train back. A quite wonderful day.

For the first long ride of the year we decided to head down to lucerne. The weather was quite nice although it kept threatening to rain as we got closer to the city. For the ride back we had a really nice tailwind for part of it making easy-pedaling to 37km/hrÂ

Needed to stay in Europe over the weekend so I decided to visit my friends near Lausanne. This is the short route I took on Saturday afternoon- a real trip down memory lane as I used to ride/live in the area. La Suisse Romande is, in my opinion, the best place I have ever ridden. Roads are excellent. There are literally hundreds of awesome ride variants, so you can get almost any distance/difficulty...
Bicycling from Biel/Bienne via Ornans (France) crossing the Jura Mountains back to Germany (near Freiburg). The GPS-Track is not as exact cause of the Interpolation-Engine.
