14th January 2012 - today we did our fourth annual January Challenge Walk. This year called The 6000→300↑ Challenge because it comprised of a 6km (actually nearer 7Km in the end!) walk along the stunning (but challenging) Sierra Helada between Benidorm and Albir and then the 300m ascent up to the summit of Peñon de Ifach at Calpe.
A quick scramble up and over Pla de la Casa with views back to our home village of Facheca.
A challenging walk in 30+º climbing 700mout of Sella in the first 1.5 miles. Recovery period was following the shaded track in the lee Penya de Sella before passing El Divino on our right and toiling up to Port de Tagarina. Here we struck sharp left up the gruelling track to Alt de Tagarina and on to Pas de la Rabosa and descending to Font de Forata, bearing left onto the broad...
