A final search for "ingonyama" came to nothing. We found tracks suggesting that she and her cubs were sheltering in an impenetratable thicket of wattle .
Sanbona is one of the top wilderness jewels in the Western Cape. There is nothing canned about this place, with magnificent game drives led by knowledgeable and passionate guides, wonderful cuisine and a night sky that will blow your mind away!
Another wonderful drive to end what has been a memorable visit to Sanbona Game Reserve. The family of white lions was the highlight, even though they were some distance away.

Some info post trip. We had an absolute blast on this Hippo as we have done on all Hippo rallies. Perfect weather and old friends priceless. The ride was great even though we got slightly lost following the new Garmin 640. The ride back was a nightmare we left it to late and rode back in the dark, along with the rest of Gauteng in their steel cans returning from the coast...
