Trips
One of the best hiking trips I've ever seen!
The trip starts near Casa Anneliese in João Bom, our holiday appartment for 2 weeks and a really nice place to stay in the northwest of São Miguel. The first part of the hike is steep up to the rim of the caldera what might get you get out of breath, but the view you will have when you have reached the top is eaven more breathtaking and really worth the struggles.You...
The most greenish and watery walk I have ever done. My favourite in Madeira.
Part of the walk is quite scary and can bring on vertigo with cliff on one side of the levada and a sheer drop of a couple of hundred meters on the other side. However it was a nice walk.
This trip is interesting for several reasons, you'll discover the most wild and unspoilt corner of Madeira. Contrast to note when you cross the tunnel of Levada do Norte...
A beautyful and easy walk around Pico do Facho and Canical, with spectacular views to Sao Lourenco. At some points you can see both the Ilhas Desertas and Porto Santo at the same time. If you have time enough, make a longer stop in Canical and see the Whaling Museum and have a lunch before walking on the rest of the way. This is a walk we have disregarded for many years,...
Small trip at Parque de Monsanto. Sunny day, very dry land making it more easy. Nice for unexperienced riders, although including "Descida das Lunetas" that is not that easy, and should be done with extra atention.
