レンタカーを借りて移動をした。次のような順で見て回った。仙台市→塩釜市→名取市（仙台空港）→仙台市
次ぎの様な順で移動した。仙台市→南三陸町→石巻市→（東松島市）→仙台市仙台市に戻る道中、カーナビに導かれるままに走っていたら東松島市を通った。東松島市も津波被害のひどかったところなのであるが、ここを通ることを予定していなかったので、惨状を眼前にした時はとても驚いた。
若林区役所に、津波で流されたがれきの中から発見された、写真や位牌の展示を見に行った。幼稚園のお遊戯会、小学校の入学式、成人式、結婚式・・・たくさ
んの人の人生が写真に収められていた。幸せだった時間がそこに詰まっていた。3月11日のまま時が止まってしまっているかのようだった。

2012年8月2日、宮城−山形間（国道286号線沿い笹谷峠周辺）および仙台市青葉区大倉ダム周辺での地上放射線を測定した。この計測では放射性微粒子の降下当時の分布状況の復元をめざした。HORIBAのシンチレーション（Radi PA-1000）を使用し、測定は平坦な草地の上1mで１分間の計測を行った。調査範囲の自然放射線の値は0.017~0.036μSv/hの地域（日本地質学会HPより）。今回の計測で最大値を示した地点は0.17μSv/h、最小値は0.04μSv/h。

Onagawa town was one of
the most seriously tsunami-engulfed towns/cities along the Sanriku indented
coast line. Tsunami reached about
15m in height at this town and surged 1km inland, destroying its downtown
center spreading along two major valleys of late Pleistocene to
Holocene marine and non-marine deposits, leaving over 1000 people missing, with over 300
confirmed dead. It was shocking that RC and steel-frame buildings with pre-stressed
high-strength concrete piles were uprooted at several locations in Onagawa, all
