Distance: 11-12kmElevation gain: 700mElevation loss: 250mMax elevation: 1060 m.Moving time (excluding resting): around 3h, in total...
Trip from Skogar to Landmannalaugar.Bizar landscape. Giant Glaciers, hot springs, vulcano's, dessert, highlands, snowfields, lakes, forests, etc....It is like going back in time for a few million years.

One of the most beautiful hikes in Iceland and probably the entire world. The scenery changes wildly from day-to-day and so does the weather. Expect sore feet and wet clothes, but also some of the most beautiful landscapes on earth.
The trail is marked well in most places, so it is easy to follow, but here will be travel in some areas...
Here is the trail and some pictures from a hiking trip that i took with my brother last summer. We started out in Skogar and went over Fimmvorduhals which is positioned between two glaciers, Eyjafjallajokull and Myrdalsjokull. The hike ended in Thorsmork. The weather was really good, almost too good. Can't wait to go there again.

One of must see during our trip to Iceland. We ordered a guided trip, since we were group of 13 people. The Golden Circle is a popular tourist route in South Iceland, covering about 300 km looping from Reykjavík into central Iceland and back. The three primary stops on the route are the national park Þingvellir, the waterfall Gullfoss (meaning "golden falls"), and the geothermally active valley of Haukadalur, which contains the geysers Geysir...
Fórum, nokkrir vinnufélagar, þessa skemmtilegu ferð í júní 2011, ásamt vinum og vandamönnum.- Me and my son did hike this trail called Fimmvorduhals from Skogar to Thorsmork early summer 2011 in a group of some coworkers and their friends and family's.
This is an incredible hike between Landmannalaugar and rsmrk (4 days) that offers a vast array of landscapes and terrain. The surrounding mountains painted in almost every color of the rainbow, great glaciers, roaring hot springs, big rivers and lakes.
Svaðilför á Koll í Reyðarfirði í maí 2007.
Third day of our Laugavegur hike. From Álftavatn lake to Botnar hut. Rainy, very rainy day :) But we enjoyed a river wade. The most significant spot of hike was Kaldaklofskvísl river with the waterfall and the bridge over. I was not able to use my DSLR, most of pictures are made by Drift Innovation HD170 camera.Check out my "Laugavegur trail" panoramatic photographs on http://www.panoramio.com/user/535318/tags/Iceland2012.
