This June I visited Gouvia in Corfu, a wonderful village in the island of Corfu. I spent 5 days there and had a great time. I stayed in Govino Bay hotel and I found it fascinating! I visited the numerous sites of the area and I can say I will definitely go back again! So guys, see you next summer!
Today we plan to be a bit more energetic . . . after a leisurely few days we really ought to see a little more of the island. Checking out our very basic 1:50 scale map where we planned our walk on one of the "long distance footpaths" on this small island. We wake with the dawn . . . full of anticipation . . . The other day we went to Charaki and climbed to the Feraklos fortress. About 300m above sea level we had an amazing view of the Agathi Bay and the small Charaki village. To explore more of the south we drove to Gennadi. In the south were less hotels and also less tourists. But I must admit the landscape was also less exciting because everything was so dry and desert like. On the...
Day two on the island and we were a little slow in grabbing the camera for sunrise . . . no surprise as we had come here to relax after all.Still the first picture of the day still finds the street lights on so it must have been sometime soon after seven o'clock. Time to return to bed for a lie in before we set sail for the day !! Full Pictures and report @ http://www.loweswatercam.co.uk/121002_Santorini_2.htm...
With a rather poor record of sunshine in this region we booked ourselves on a flight to the sun before the summer ended. A visit Greece for the first time in thirty years started with a trip down the motorway to Manchester Airport. We had our passports, but you don't need yours, to join us on a trip to the blue Aegean Seas of the Mediterranean. Full Pictures and report @http://www.loweswatercam.co.uk/121002_Santorini_1.htm
The first day we went to the valley of butterflies (Petaloudes). The entry fee was 5 euros and for that you can walk about 2km on a nice trail through the valley along a small river. There were thousands of butterflies and unfortunately also thousands of tourists. They come with buses at about midday and we didn\'t knew that. I wasn\'t able to take some good macros of the insects because first the...
Alle begin is moeilijk :-)
