Trips
Very nice hike in the amazing wilderness of Finland. On your way through the nationalpark you have tented huts to sleep in for free and you can drink the water of feeder rivers. We were very thankflul for this super insider tip.I will add some further pictures soon. The punkies were very agressive. A hat with a mosquito net is necessary. We made it in about 3 days,
In the nice Hossa National hiking area, one of the most beautiful circle trail - although all are so nice that it is difficult to choose. No difficulty whatsoever, the blue marking is perfect. Magnificent lake views.
The hiking took place on Ascension Day 13th May 2010. Weather was at first cloudy and rather cool but became during the day sunny and warm.
An absolute must do, easy and beautiful and...Just go and see.Lots of people, but...
First, an impressive narrow valley, then a peaceful walk back. Do not be surprised, part of the hill is ruined by ski tracks, but the good part of it is that it opens perspectives to Pyhajarvi nd neighborhood you would not have...Oh, yes, a few steps at the end of the valley...DO NOT get out of the trail, nature is fragile...Of course, lots of beautiful reindeers around.
From the gorgeous Best Western Pyhatunturi, go up and left past Visitor center.Marking is utterly perfect, walk is easy, on level ground and timber walkways.View is amazing in that ravine, and then is is a nice walk back aroud teh mountain. At the end of ravine, splendid baby lake and waterfall.Too good, must be a catch somewhere ? well, is a 400+ steps stair to climb a catch ?
A nice, easy trail, available to all.Gorgeous lake sighseeings, lots of ups and downs as we walk eskers and hills.it is perfectly marked with red markings. It starts at Huosivirta parking area, takes you to lake Saari-Hoilua, Valkeinen road & along Iso Valkainen lake, Keski-Valkainen, wonderful esker along Ala-Valkainen, Kokalmus-Lipposensalmi sound.A little farther, you will have to choose between Jatkonvaara or Jatkonjarvi. If you remember tha Vaara stands for Hill or Jarvi for...
A quiet trip to a painted cliff.Magic !On the northern leg, just after start, I met an really big squirrel, all red, but the size of a fox! In my homeland, they come much smaller !
Towards a natural concert hall...A small walk, a great place. There is a geocache by the "hall", GC1471X. I won't give spoiler !As on teh way "up" I used geocaching function, I recorded the return trip. Hence, some pictures taken on the "in" leg can be a bit misplaced.
We have an tradition to make the Kalliojärvi hike atleast once a year. It was an beatiful day and the weather was quite warm considering how late we are in the year. We also searched for two known Geocaches, but were able to find just one of them. The other left behind is an good reason go come back again soon!
