Scuba diving | 159 miles
This was a week on the Tempest, part of the Tornado Fleet in the Red Sea. Due to bad weather, the trip was amended from the "normal" route, but we had almost no other boats at almost every dive site, including (unusually) the Thistlegorm. We only had 11 divers on the boat, plus two guides, and almost didn't make it to Abu Nuhas due to the high winds. Thanks...

Getting lost near Wadi Qnai El Rayan
by Nepalrunning on May 03, 2013
Dahab, Janūb Sīnāʼ, Egypt
Trail running | 13.3 miles
Another proof of my very deficient sense of direction. Last time in Dahab, about a month ago, Marjan and I accompanied our friend Emily on a climbing outing to Wadi Qnai El Rayan. This time round I wanted to run that beautiful wadi and find a nice circular route back to Dahab including the Wadi connection. I took a Wadi too early from the main road, first coming to an area with a...

wadi Degla to Wadi Hoff
by Nepalrunning on Apr 20, 2013
Cairo Governorate, Egypt
Walking | 13.2 miles
Marjan & I walked from the Wadi Degla entrance to Wadi Hoff - the connection is a Wadi going straight South from the camping place about 3.5 k from the entrance. Then one emerges on a littered plane (all army rubbish, various bases visible) crosses a tar army road and soon after hits the side wadi of what eventually become Wadi Hoff. One has to climb the Eastern rim because the lower...
