Trips
Meu primeiro longão de 16km em Órleans em Ottawa
This was my first Toronto Goodlife Half Marathon through the streets of Toronto. Â I finished with a chip time of 1.52.48.0 in 1467th place out of 5242 runners. Â I finished 163 out of 379 in my age group (M35-39) and was 1055th out of the 2396 men who ran.
Long run on holiday/work trip to Ottawa. Temperature was 1C, clear, sunny and calm.
Este foi meu primeiro treino aqui no Canadá.
Foi bem próximo à casa do Renato e da Adriana, onde fiquei hospedados nas duas primeiras noites em Ottawa.
Treino de 29km em preparação para a Maratona de Chicago
Ran with Evan in stroller. Was kind of tough as it was windy adn the shoulders were bumpy.
Timed run for 1.5 mile run
This training season started a little early this year. Because of the preparation for the 4x5k relay of the YMCA corporate challenge in June, I did my ever best time in Mississauga Half at 1:43.07. After running a 22:05 at the 5k corporate challenge, I decided to give it a try to see if I can break my 1:40:43 record set in 2003 in Toronto Half.
Â
Spent the whole summer training with intervals...
What an enjoyable Sunday afternoon revisiting the HamiltonBeach trail! This is the trail I used to spend hours practicing my inline skating. Today, rather than skating, I ran the trail leisurely, without pressure of training or speed work in my mind. It has been at least 2 years since I last visited this trail. The entire 16k round trip is paved with the smoothest pavement you can find in the entire Greater Toronto region, serving...
This was the annual Sporting Life 10K race through downtown Toronto. Â This is the second time I ran this race, first time in 2009. Â My stats for this race was a chip time of 43:58.7 (which bettered my 2009 time by 2 whole minutes!) and I was 811th place out of 11,898 runners. Â In my category (men 35-39) I came 109th out of 751 runners. Â I was 701st out of the 5213...
Though the Mississauga Half/Full Marathon is only 7 years old, it has quickly become one of the most popular running events in the Greater Toronto area. This year, it has attracted more than 15,000 participants taking part in the 5k, 10k, Half Marathon and Marathon this weekend.Â
Every year for the last 7 years, Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion has ‘ordered’ the weather for us. So far, her order has been working wonderfully...
This was my first Half Marathon. Â It weaved through Mississauga, starting at Square One shopping mall and finishing at Port Credit Memorial Park. Â I finished in 962nd place, with a chip time of 1:48:40, 713th place out of all the men who ran and 128th in my category (Men 35-39). Â This was the first time I've run this far ever, the last few KM were a killer!
This was my first run of the annual Streetsville Bread and Honey Festival 5KM race through the town of Streetsville, Ontario. Â It was a VERY rainy day, it poured for most of the run, I was soaked at the end! Â I came 71st in the race out of 649 people, 50th out of the 249 men who ran and 2nd in my category (Men 35-39).Â
I don’t exactly remember the year I started running the Toronto Half Marathon. According to the online record, it was at least in the year 1999 and I’ve been doing this religiously as an annual event. It has always been scheduled the week after the Thanksgiving weekend when the fall colour of the trees is at its peak in Toronto. I also remembered one year while running on Bayview Ave coming down...
