This was the place we decided to see the tides in the Bay of Fundy, and we were not disappointed. Hopewell Rocks is a 30 minute drive from Moncton (Moncton because Marriott Residence Inn one bedroom suite), and it is a " have to see it to believe it" type place. We arrived at 0955 low tide, hiked the "ocean floor", drove south to Cape Enrage Lighthouse (fogged out), down to Fundy...
This was my second falls I visited on my Westmorland/Kent County trip. I must say, this was a much better waterfall. After backtracking from Beaumont and getting back to Moncton, I took Route 115 (Elmwood Drive) north from the TCH for about 9.8 km. I turned right onto Scotch Settlement Road. I followed this road for 3.8 km and then turned left onto Cove Road. I drove 1.4 km to a small bridge...
I saw this waterfall first on my Westmorland/Kent County trip...and I must say WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. I'm a simple fellow and it doesn't take much to amuse me, so for me to say this it had to be disappointing. The falls are more like a cascade and maybe it was the time of year but it was a small trickle. Compounding the issue were the thousands of mosquitoes lurking in the woods...
This is the third waterfall I have visited from the book by Nicholas Guitard, "A Guide to Waterfalls in New Brunswick." His directions to the site are very clear and easy to find. I was nervous as there was a "No Trespassing" sign guarding the entrance, but I ran in, took my pictures, and ran out quickly! lol
Not much going on here today. Just trying to get to Quebec City with over night in Edmundston,NB , which is on the US border at the northern border of Maine! I never realized Maine was so far north. What do these people do up here? Cut wood? We did get to see the world's longest covered bridge and the "french fries capital of the world" on the way up. Sorry for the highway views. Just wanted...

Recently stumbled across the trailhead for the Northwest Trail, and decided to bike a section of it.
Cameron and I decided to give the Mapleton Park trails a try, and we both enjoyed this scenic hike.
My first hike along the trails on the north shore of the Peticodiac river, betwen the soon-to-be-bypassed causeway and the new Gunningsville Bridge. The snow was almost completely gone, but the ground was still wet. So wet, in fact, that I stepped in what seemed like solid earth, only to sink to the ankle in mud. And of all the days to decide to take my good runners instead of my regular hiking...
First day of spring!Definitely a day for the birds. Saw a spring robin looking for something to eat under a bush, a flock of Canada Geese eating grass, some mallards looking for a spot to build a nest, and an osprey cruising up and down the river.
Flying from Toronto to Moncton.
