Trips
July 29th - August 1stThis trip should take 2-3 hours worth of hiking to get to the lake. Get dropped off on a Friday morning, get to the lake mid afternoon, set up camp, make a meal, then sit around the fire and maybe go for a swim. Stay for all Saturday and Sunday, then head home Monday at lunch. We will need a pick up at the street in Langford. This trip would take 10 mins if I...
end-May, still lots of snow...stopped at the Arrowsmith-Cokely ridge
Climbed the NE Spur of Mt. Matier Via Anniversary glacier.
Not to be confused with the ski resort - the climb to Cypress Peak crosses a large glacier and has some impressive views.
This trip was the first exploration and creation of a trail from Elk Falls to the top of Elk Mtn. Time: top of the falls to the top of elk is: 1hr, 30mins.Time: from beginning to end: 5hrs (0ne way)
Ten of us set out to summit the north peak on a sunny sunday afternoon. After driving to around 1100m and snowshoeing to 1800m we finally made it.Along the way we heard an avalanch every 30mins or so coming from the back of knight peak.Start: 10:30am, Finish: 430pmTotal Distance: 14kmParticipants: Kelly, Ron, Mark, Rob, Lisa, Richard x 2, Serge, Alex and Karl
Went for a a day-hike up Lady Peak. We climbed up to the col between Cheam and Lady peak and then ascended moderate snow slopes to the summit. Straightforward scrambling with little exposure.Definately don't attemp the drive in unless you have high-clearance 4wd (unless you find water-bars fun - there was probably one every 100m).
Quite the hike. I am exhausted.
Another beautiful sunny fall day for a MTB ride up in Squamish with the MTB Meet-Up group. Thanks to Jeff & Andrea for a great ride through Cheshire Cat, Cheshire Kitten, White Rabbit & Wonderland (10.5km).
