This trip was used in episode 25 of Icenrye's Geocaching Videozine to demonstrate the everytrail.com website.

Loop to Ammonite Falls.... Grab a couple Geocaches along the way!Starts on far trail, returns on a bit of a bushwhack.
We headed out for our first ever geocache hike near Mission Creek... it was a multi-geocache meaning we needed to find a few locations that would give us coordinates to the final cache.
We found the first 2 micro-magnetic boxes with coordinates leading us on, but the 3rd one was missing, and we were sure we were in the right spot. A bit of a bummer since it was our first geocache but...
Headed out to pick up 2 caches in an area I've never hiked before. Nice view from the east Ridge at the top as well as on the way down. Sunny and snowing :)
Headed to the Westside to check out Rose Valley Lake and surrounding area, picked up 3 caches. Nice area, we'll probably be back... decent elevation gain too

Our way in to find the oldest cache in the Parksville area.
Long day trip from the Maple Ridge BC up country to the Merritt area; highlights included the Quilchena Hotel, the Douglas Lake Ranch, a number of back roads through wide open rangeland, and small communities that once were large at the turn of the century. The trip concluded by finding a cache at the 6,000 foot level on Promontory Mountain north-west of Merritt. The back sections of the FSR had 2 inches of snow...
It was a destination cache weekend, one in the planning for quite some time.. we'd tried a few years back but hadn't been successful with running out of time. The plan was simple with a few known facts - We'd also been given a tent trailer that had an agenda to be at the cabin on Friday night for seeing if it could be restored. We left Maple Ridge at about 7 on Friday,...
