A good day of cross-country skiing in Peter Lougheed Park in Alberta, Canada. Started from the Elk Pass trailhead, then down to William Watson Lodge for lunch, and ending at Pocaterra Hut. This is my first try using GPS to track my path.
Beautiful conditions, freshly trackset, tons of snow.
I joined my wife and her ski buddies for a late November ski on some fresh snow in Gatineau Park in Quebec, just across the border from Ottawa, ON.
Climbing is tough for me. Ridge road is fun but coming down Penguin is scary when icy.

This was my first attempt at biathlon. It had been a long time dream to try it out, ever since being heavily into shooting as a kid.

It has been designated as an international significant wetland. The 8km Mer Bleue trail is maintained by the National Capital Commission (NCC) and is open year round. The trailhead is off of the intersection of Anderson and Ridge Roads. I cross country skied this trail - ...
A loop past, and over, the two bridges at Nipika. Excellent skiing on track-set trails in a scenic setting surrounded by mountains.
Today is my first cross-country skiing for this season. For most ski clubs, cross country skiing does not start until the first or second weekend in January. This morning at the York Mills/Yonge bus stop, it was crowded with xc skiers from various clubs including the Bruce Trail, North Toronto, and East York, waiting anxiously for their departing buses. Today’s destination for our High Park club was Highlands Nordic. By the time...
