On a sunny day this is a nice tour...first tracks down Corona bowl! These tracks were from a previous trip, but basically the same. We had a bonus run down blackcomb glacier before skinning up to Spearhead col, spearhead and out Corona bowl.
We spend a fantastic week at the Durrand Glacier chalet where we ski real deep and steep powder. The days were exhausting but the descents worth every effort we made. The scenery was breathtaking and the staff very professional. Four stars for the meal.

Great snow and sunny skies!
I passed on this trip due to being tired, cold temps and flat light. Lee and Adrian went out to check out the blackcomb backcountry.
With renewed confidence in stability we decided to head for open faces. We were thinking of heading to something N facing but its not too often that sun-exposed faces retain good snow so we decided to wander up to Cayoosh to take a look at some of the terrain. For a variety of reasons we ended up doing laps on the East Glacier. Wonderful uncharacteristically light snow. With clouds all around us...
We were enjoying our stay at the cottage in Whitewater Village. It had been snowing the entire day on Saturday, although the amount was only about 10cm.9:00am: I'm making my final preparations. Outside temperature is about -18C and there's a good wind blowing.
