Trips
A ski track for a powder day at Le Massif, Quebec, Canada. 62 cm of snow fell the night before on top of a 4 meter base. The snow was pretty well tracked out by 10:30 am.
Skiing a bunch of mogul and tree runs at Le Massif after a powder day.
A longer day on the hill (3 runs, yay!), but it ended in tragedy when my youngest son broke his leg (tibia) on the bunny hill, at 4:30 PM. He's OK, but it's hard for a 5-year old to have a cast (!!).
It has almost been a habit to start my skiing season on the 3rd weekend of Dec for the last few years. This is the time of the year we don’t see much snow in Toronto and therefore didn’t expect much when going north to Barrie. We usually find the condition beyond our expectation. Today is no exception; the weather was perfect, not as cold in Jan and Feb and the hills...
What a change in temperature today, dropping from -3c on New Year’s day yesterday to -14 c with very strong north wind at 41 km/h and wind chill at -26c in Collingwood, Ontario. I would have stayed home warm if today was not a family skiing day we had planned before the holiday started.
Take Hwy 400 north to Barrie, exit Hwy 26 and turn left onto Bayfield St (Hwy 26). Continue 5 km...
Had a late morning start. JD wanted to try the T-bars and we ended up hiking to the top of the Blackcomb Glacier and got a treat with amazing views and fantastic powder. Awesome new years eve run ! :)
Having worked long hours the past few days, I decided to take the rest of the afternoon off to clear my mind and relieve some stress. It was a gorgeous day so I decided to ski Grouse. I'm glad I did as now I am all relaxed and ready for another day.
