Rated hard, 21.1km The walk started at the ford over Sixth Creek. The walk takes you along lemon and cherry orchards, through Montacute Conservation Park. It has two steep uphill climbs and requires a good level of fitness.
Scott Creek Conservation park (Peramangk Aboriginal Territory) is a well hidden treasure, situated 20 km from Adelaide. It was a wet and rainy day for members of the Heysen Trail, but we were rewarded with beautiful flowers, fungi, encounters with wallabies, stunning strong green and yellow colors and fresh air. The hike started at Almanda Mines car park. In the 1850's the Almanda Mines area was mined for silver and copper. It is a...

A walk which had everything, thick scrub, tall yuccas, pristine beaches, sweeping views of Kangaroo Island, rolling green, lush hills, rain and sunshine and good company.

A challenging walk as it starts from sea level. It can be done in 2 stages. Thank you Julien Monfries and Friends of Heysen Trail for organizing this trip.

Walk description taken from the Friends of Heysen Trail website "Passing Balquhidder Station, named after the birthplace of Rob Roy, we make our way down to the coast while taking in the views offered by the Southern Ocean. The walk takes us along both Parsons and Waitpinga Beaches and finishes at Waitpinga Campground in the Newland Head Conservation Park. This is a spectular walk."
