Lakeside, New South Wales, Australia
Kayaking / Canoeing | 6.8 miles
Wallarah Creek is a 11Km easy trip displaying wonderful and colourful surroundings. It is decorated by beautiful red Gum trees, Banksias and bird life.I  accessed to creek from the boat ramp situated at the end of  Emu Dr. San Remo. Creek is tidal but provides deep water for access up to weir under the Motorway Bridge. I could possibly carry my kayak over the weir but  it is still very new and not...

Swansea to Spoon Rocks
by djrb2290 on Jun 22, 2009
The Blacksmith, New South Wales, Australia
Kayaking / Canoeing | 10.8 miles
This was a trip organised by the Hunter Kayak Klan. This was my longest coastal trip yet and it was good to have the security of more experienced Klan members around. It was a calm day and crossing the Swansea Bar was no problems. From there we headed south past Caves Beach to Spoon Rocks for a short break. We then headed further south to look at a large cave. It was decided...

Kayaking / Canoeing | 7.2 miles
The BRC50 is the annual down river kayak/canoe race between Mareeba and Kuranda held early May. The BRC12 is the junior race held over the first 12km leg of the course. The photos show the put in and get out. A number of river shots provide a snapshot of the main skillset of paddling skills required to either race or socially paddle this section. Whilst the junior record sits at 63 minutes, a socially...

Patonga to Cowan Point
by ST on Jul 17, 2009
Patonga, New South Wales, Australia
Kayaking / Canoeing | 17.4 miles
This is my second solo into Broken Bay. Departed from Patonga Creek boat ramp all stops to Cowan Point and back, 28kms. I stayed very close to the edge. It is bit like what I would like to call a ‘bush walk by the water’s edge’. I stopped on almost every beach I saw. I was pleasantly surprised to find many small but otherwise very cute waterfalls all the way. Hungry beach, Little...
