This popular waterfall on Tower Creek was named by members of the 1870 Washburn expedition. It first was called "Minaret Creek," but one member objected, stating that the name violated their agreement to naming objects for their friends. He claimed the name was in reference to "Minnie Rhett," a sweetheart of one of the other members. By unanimous vote,...

A easy half day hike to the nice Fairy Falls and the Imperial Geyser. Off the beaten tracks of Yellowstone but especially the Imperial Geyser was very impressing. There are 2 geysers at the end of the track so make sure that you have seen both of them. The last one (Imperial) is much more impressive than the fist one.
Mt. Washburn provides a great overview over Yellowstone NP, so if the weather is fine don't miss to climb up there and enjoy the view from the fire lookout.
The frontal ascent to Avalanche Peak.

Hiking | 2.4 miles
Hiking | 2.4 miles
This is the place to go if you want to see more than one petrified tree at Yellowstone. It's a steep hike, but well worth it for the view and what you'll find at the top. You might want to use hiking poles and bring plenty of water. Near the top you can go your own way, the trail isn't really necessary, and you might lose it. If you have a few...
