Hiking in Vogel State Park

Vogel State Park is a gem in north GA between Dahlonega and Blairsville. Winding Mountain roads lead you to lake Tralytha named after a Native American Princess. The shortest trail is 1 mile around the gorgeous lake. This state park has great campsites and Cabins for rental. Great fishing, hiking, pedal boats, mini-golf, concerts, and more.

The 4 mile loop up to the Vogel Overlook is a nice trek through the woods, and the most strenuous and rewarding is all the way up to Blood Mountain to the Appalachian trail. An easy starter family trail for kids is the Byron Herbert Reese trail loop.
