The Richardson WildLife management area in Brookfield, Ma can be accessed several ways. The first and largest parking area is at the very end of Devils Elbow Rd. (off route 148 north towards Nbroofield) the second area, and the area we parked at for our map is off of Foster Hill Rd. in Brookfield, just past the McCarthy Bus company and Funeral home. Out for a geocaching run on Tekoa. A beautiful day and a great hike. Got six caches and two benchmarks.
GPS is still not working properly. The actual mileage was 8.4. Great hike along the Mt. Holyoke Range! Started at the Notch Visitor Center and hiked the Metacomet - Monadnock Trail summitting Bare Mountain, Mt. Hitchcock and continued along to to the Summit House. The snow was beginning to fall as we reached the summit of Mt. Holyoke and continued for the hike back.

The Brookside Trail Loop is a nice one hour or so side trail at Northwest Park.The Animal Barn and gardens are interesting, and so is the Science Center; it is geared for children, but is great for us older folks as well.They have a nice gift shop, but do not take Visa, etc.
Park on Harris Mountain Rd. Then take the Robert Frost/MM trail to the MM trailto Long Mountain. Go past to a viewpoint area. Easy hike - under 1.5 hrs.
