New to the area so I don't know if there is a local name for this trail but I named it based on where I was. It was pretty steep and rocky at start and then leveled out a bit on top of the ridge. I'm not sure if there was a better return route but we ended up on the street below walking back to the car.

2/1/2013: TRAIL IS NOW CLOSED AS A RESULT OF TOO MUCH TRAFFIC. I GUESS EVERYTRAIL IS MAYBE A BAD THING? This is a great hike starting in Avila Valley and reaching a nice peak with gorgeous ocean views! Great hike, took us about an hour for 3.18 miles.
I realized on the way to work this morning that my hike at sunset last evening resulted in my loosing prescription sunglasses - I pulled into the trailhead, checked the car for them. No such luck. Called work to explain my predicament and headed back up this morning to retreive them.

We didn't break any speed records but worked hard enough to break a sweat.... just in time for the gluttony of Thanksgiving. It was an incredibly clear and beautiful day and the views of SLO and surrounding landscape from the top were awesome.

This is a fairly easy hike with a great view at the top.The trail has a lot of loose rock in parts. Trail markers are a bit misleading and only the Lemon Grove loop trail is named. To get to the top we stayed on the largest, most well traveled portions when in doubt and it worked out well. Mtn Bikers are allowed on this trail.
