Great Hike; boulders, vistas, graveyards and foundations make this trip probably one of my favorite hikes so far this spring... If your curious about why the mountain range appears circular, the range is actually an ancient volcanic ring dike. The site experienced earthquakes in 1845 which were known as the Deerfield Explosions.

Easter hike to South Mountain fire tower. Still pretty wet from recent rains and thaw. Access road is closed, so we hiked from the admin building. Crystal clear sky, we could see forever from the fire tower.
