Hiking in Patuxent River State Park

We had intended to do a longer hike, however, as many of the trails in the park are receive primarily equestrian use and we have had an inordinate amount of rain recently, the trails along the river were mud-pitted nightmares.  Furthermore, as the forest in mostly new growth the considerable understory prevented us from moving off the trail to avoid the mess.  Still, the seclusion was absolute, not another soul on the...
