I love this hike I do this route all the time you can take a short route
to the peak if you want only to see the peak & sign the registry .
But the Loop gives you a feeling of hiking threw dense trees at times
and scrambling up & down some rocky trails along with great scenic
opportunities for good photos. Most of the time I never come across
anyone...

Beautiful day, saw some gray whales and many dolphins on the way to the island. The surge that day made disembarking at Anacapa an interesting experience. Lovely hike among the nesting gulls and springtime flowers once on the island.Spectacular views for the northern most point.
Leisurely Labor Day hiking trip to see the water falls and caves. Lovely breezy day, not so hot. Saw a young rattler and a king snakes. Sitting by the running water was peaceful and relaxing. We plan to do a longer hiking trip next time and bring food to have a nice lunch by the water.

Too slippery to descend the Mugu Peak Direct Trail, so descended the trail to the north and circled back to repeat the Direct ascent. With about 50 lbs in the pack this was a great workout.
