Climb to the top of this 11,000 foot Wasatch Peak which rises above Salt Lake City with a massive glacial cirque.
This is a fairly strenuous climb to the top of one of the tallest peaks of the Wasatch Range. Reaching the cliff-lined summit will require some scrambling up steep slopes and over boulders. Follow the track in this guide closely to find your way up a variation to the top that takes you up a steep coulouir. Bring a camera as you will have specatacular...

8.5 mi. (4.2 mi. to summit). 8 hrs. Hiked to squaw peak from rock canyon park. Then hiked around trying to find a
way to get up to squaw peak parking lot (pretty far away- another mountain, pretty much). Wasn't able
to do it so went straight down once it started to get dark. Search and
rescue (the sheriff) was little help even after I sent him my gps
coordinates. Just slowed us down.
While on the...
Lone Peak is the "notched" peak at the top of the huge mountain on the south side of the road as your traveling up Little Cottonwood canyon. The peak is visible from most of the Salt Lake and Utah County areas. All approaches to the peak are long with substantial elevation gain. My son (Tyler) and I decided a couple weeks previous that we were going to do the hike. A friend...
I thought that I would be taking a nice leisurely hike up to Stewart Falls from the Sundance resort. What transpired was a nearly three hour long journey which had me walking along the road for a good part of the time. This was partially my fault, as I just set off in a direction, hoping to hook up with the trail. But the map from the sports shop at...

is very easy.Story:We (Jeremy, Tara, Savannah, Shaun, Melissa, Jacob, Kylie, and Kate)
hiked the Rocky Mouth trail to the waterfall on 7/2/2011. The trailhead

Short hike to nature's perfect waterslide!
We finally got around to checking out Timpanogos Cave. A pretty tough walk up to the cave then a fun trip through 3 caves. Would have loved to do the tour of the cave again - perhaps next year combined with the picnic lunch 1/4 mile away and then a stop at the water park.

I hiked Lone Peak with my 9 year old son and a good friend. We ascended following the Jacob's Ladder trail. While we had read that there was limited/no water July on, we found ample water at the junction (which cuts across to Outlaw Cabin) as well as further up the trail. At about 10k feet, we were heading off the trail to allow my 9 year old to use the "facilities"...

I decided to get one more good hike in before winter, and I chose Dry Creek Canyon because I have never been there before, and I have always wanted to explore this corner of the Wasatch. I arrived at the trail head around 8:30 and was plesantly surprised to find only one vehicle.
The trail is an old service road that was once used to maintain a pipeline that brought water to a...

We experienced rain, hail, and snow on the way up. The clouds obscured the view pic the valley. The weather was clear for the descent, but the muddy trail was slippery. All in all it was a fun hike
A nice little hike up Rock Canyon. We turned around at the first bathroom in the picnic area. The snow was too deep at that point for our tennis shoes. Saw many people with snow shoes along the way. Only a snowmobile appeared to have gone as far as the picnic area.
Squaw Peak is one of my favorite hikes, I worked out at CrossFit but feel like I need to do something else so I decided to do this Hike.It is an easy hike and easy to follow trail, the view was beautiful since the colors are changing so I enjoyed going up a lot, I was slow cause I was tired from the work out before and was getting dark but I decide to...
I decided to take a lunch time walk from Centennial Middle School to Rock Canyon. I'll hike then entire canyon one of these days. It's been a few years since I've hiked the entire route, but I don't have time today and wanted to try out the EveryTrail tracker.
