The trail was completely covered in snow from the very first step out of the parking lot, so there wasn't any meadow flowers to be seen. The entire trail was grooved in the slushy snow from many hikers and mountaineers, most on their...
Thought we would test out Rainier before my climb in 3 weeks. Snow 100% of the way. Made it to just below Anvil Rock. Do not be fooled by the overall time, we glissaded most of the way down.
Day hike with the kids. Started from Paradise parking lot at about 9:00am.Very cool weather. Foggy and windy on Muir snowfield after Pebble Creek. Next time bring the skis and snow gear.
James and I both have Summit attempts of Rainier late in the season and decided to climb up to Camp Muir as a training hike. We could not have had better weather!
