One of the best trails in the entire park, and a shuttle will even bring you back to your car at Logan Pass
This is one of the park's most beautiful hikes. It can be done in an afternoon after parking your car at Logan Pass then taking the traverse of the glacially carved valley down to the lower parking lot on Going to the Sun road. Look up the shuttle schedule and pace yourself so that you can catch a ride with the free shuttle back up to your car at...
Twenty-five miles of spectacular backpacking in the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness of Montana, USA.
"The Beaten Path" is a 25 mile trail traversing some of the most spectacular country within the 944,000 acre Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness. Lakes and streams appear around just about every corner enticing both those appreciative of a spectacular Wilderness view or one with a penchant for hooking a trout upon the end of their fly-line. The trail...
The highpoint of Montana over an amazing 2 day climb.
This 12,799 located in the Beartooth Mountain Range of Montana in the Rockies is one of the harder state highpoints to get due to the distance technical challenge of the last 200 feet of the summit block. When you get up there it will look impossible but if you can make it across the snow bridge safely there is a route you can scramble up to the summit....
A beautiful hike to a glacial lake beneath a massive melting glacier.
This is one of the most beautiful hikes in the entire National Park. The wonderfully maintained park trail will take you past beautiful lakes onto steep hillsides with sweeping views of waterfalls and glaciers all around you. You will probably see a lot of wildlife on the trip as well so be ready with your camera. When you get to Grinnell Lake you...
A short loop hike through a cedar forest to Avalanche Gorge that is wheelchair accessible as well
This is a short hike through the woods over wooden boardwalks and bridges that are handicapped accessible for wheelchairs or the elderly. There are many informative and interpretive signs along the path to guide you and explain the flora and fauna of the area. This is a wonderful hike to take children on.
4.4 mile trail near Big Sky, Montana. This trail begins at the road opposite the Cinnamon Lodge in the Gallatin Canyon.
To find the trailhead, take the forest road opposite the Cinnamon Lodge in Gallatin Canyon which is south of Big Sky and the Corral Restaurant and Bar. You drive just a short distance (maybe 1/2 mile) to the trailhead. The trail follows Cinnamon Creek for 2.5 miles to a junction where it then goes up a ridge to the lookout. The trail if good...

Awesome hike in some absolutely gorgeous country. My father and I started off with a boat rides from the Many Glacier Hotel across Swiftcurrent Lake. There is a fifth of a mile long paved trail connecting Swiftcurrent Lake from Lake Josephine. Once departing Morning Eagle, the fun old boat serving Lake Josephine, the trail heads to the North for a short ways before heading West and steadily ascending towards Upper Grinnell Lake.The...

just about ever since. Sam has lived in Bozeman...

We drove up the Moose Creek Road to its end at Swan Creek (see Moose Creek-Swan Creek Drive). We set up a base camp and hiked east, up Swan Creek to the Divide Trail, then turned north to Hyalite Peak. The wildflowers up high were great. The branches to Swan Creek were spectacular, as was the view from the summit. We ate raspberries, thimble berries and huckleberries on the way. A clatter...
Nice little walk for the whole family. Great scenery and not too long for young boys.
Rain greeted us at Beehive Basin, but the dreary weather could not hide the beauty of the flowers.
Walking the trail to Cinnamon Mountain is one of the classic Big Sky hikes. The trail is well graded from bottom to top, with lots of forest and meadow hiking. The views along the trail are great - and then you get to the summit. You understand why they put a lookout tower up here. There are views in every direction. A splendid hike.
May 23 trip to check condition of new trail. We got to top of old road before much snow. No clearing needed. Big slump across trail needs lots of work. Otherwise in good shape. FS was working to fix up on lower part by bridge.

We have always wanted to hike up Dudley Creek. It is a wonderful place as the attached photos will attest.
