3 day/2 night hiking trip on Grand Island, ending 7/28/07. We didn't know about the archaeological dig or the marathon and 10K run that took place on Saturday. Fun hike.
Just a quick hike at Stony Creek Metro Park.

My mom takes me on her favorite hike near Bay City, Michigan.
During a beautiful snowfall, my wife Crystal and I took a hike in the Rogue River State Game Area (5000 acres of woods, swamps, lakes, streams and wildlife in my backyard) to try out my new Nikon Cookpix P90 and my new Garmin Oregon 400t. We were rewarded with a winter wonderland.
Went to Norht Manitou Island again this year for another look at some key spots. Wanted to make sure and see Stomer Camp and the truck graveyeard there. Took lots of pics. Went to the lake becuase it is just a beautiful spot on the island.I'm sure I will be back next year, but maybe for more than just a couple of days. I still have the Pot Holes in the north...
Quick hike from Seaton creek campground. Lots of cool sites, the dam, walk along the river, and a cool suspension bridge, there is also a few Geocaches along the way.
I selected this place because I knew the snow would be gone from most of the shore. I had great weather and saw many seabird on their way up north. 17.6 miles the first day & another 6 miles back to the jeep on the last day.
I was pleasantly surprised by the steadily rolling hills throughout most of this hike. There are a few bogs, which I'm not a big fan of, but lots of nice woodlands as well. The side trip up Haven Hill to the old Edsel Ford lodge is well worth the climb. Pretty cool little bit of history up there - the old carriage house is still all there and plenty of interesting ruins of...

The Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park is a beautiful remote area along the northernmost edge of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, bordering Lake Superior. This is an 7-mile out-and-back hike we took from the Lake of the Clouds overlook down the Big Carp River Trail. The trail follows a cliffside, with grand south and easterly views over the wilderness area, and Lake of the Clouds back to the northeast.Along for the trek was Rio, our...
stopped on the way home from the UP.
We went for a quick hike this morning.
What's Up Well, you see, a bunch of people walk for about
7 miles only to end up exactly where they started. It truly is an
exercise in futility. But it should be a pretty place and the company
will kick ass. Why? Because I have never been to Proud Lake and I need to keep up my backpacking shape (yes, I will be carrying- a backpack that is)
This was a continuation trip from last year. We hiked the western half of the trail and first saw the Adirondack
shelter at Rim Lake.
One year later we decided it was time to head to the U.P. once again and it was time to see the rest of what this trail system had to offer. With an extra day and a goal to visit and stay at all three of the Adirondack shelters...
