Rockingham Recreational Trail
Manchester, New Hampshire, United States (3.2 miles away)

Moderate: 26 miles, Full day
From Massabesic Lake to Great Bay, this trail offers pretty ponds, beautiful bridges and a shady ride in the NH forests.

Due to its proximity to Manchester and the Manchester airport, this trail is one of most accessible of the wonderful New Hampshire Rail Trails. If you are flying to New Hampshire, you may very well fly into Manchester. This trail is popular year-round with biking, hiking, and running in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. And speaking of winter...

Pawtuckaway Hike North Mountain
by spencerbinnh on Apr 03, 2010
Deerfield Center, New Hampshire, United States
Hiking | 5.1 miles (14.7 miles away)
Great Hike; boulders, vistas, graveyards and foundations make this trip probably one of my favorite hikes so far this spring... If your curious about why the mountain range appears circular, the range is actually an ancient volcanic ring dike.  The site experienced earthquakes in 1845 which were known as the Deerfield Explosions.

Stopped off for a quick hike.  Love this one, easy terrain with a beautiful waterfall.  Great little hike for families! And it looks like I was in Mt. Vernon, just outside of Milford, NH.
Pawtuckaway - South Mountain
by magellan on May 06, 2008
Deerfield Center, New Hampshire, United States
Hiking | 1.9 miles (15.1 miles away)
This is a relatively easy 2 mile loop that takes you up Pawtuckaway's South Mtn with a climb of around 500-600ft. Take Reservation Rd. off Rt 107 and follow it to the second left. If the gate is closed you can park near the gate (don't block it) and walk a couple hundred yards to the South Mtn. trailhead. If the gate is open you could drive in about...

Temple Mountain - Wapack Trail
by spencerbinnh on Apr 03, 2011
Peterborough, New Hampshire, United States
Hiking | 3.9 miles (27 miles away)
From the parking area head across Temple Road to the trailhead.   This is a great hike for someone looking for some pretty decent views for little effort.   The most incline you will experience is within the first half mile and I would consider climbing that moderately difficult at most.   If you happen to loose the trail look for the nearest stone wall as the trail for the most part...
Pawtuckaway - North Mountain
by magellan on May 11, 2008
Deerfield Center, New Hampshire, United States
Hiking | 5.0 miles (14.7 miles away)
We did the loop clockwise and it worked out great. From the gate (with the #12 sign), follow the trail to a "T" and take a sharp right (if you go left you see a sign that you're leaving Pawtuckaway park). Immediately after taking the right, take a left to begin the ascent of North Mt. following the white blazes. The trail heads up steeply and you get your...

Pulpit Rock Conservation Area, Bedford, NH

Hiking | 1.7 miles (8.5 miles away)
Decided to try Pulpit Rock Bedford Conservation Area for a quick hike this morning.  I was a little disappointed.  While clean, it was somewhat boring.  It's great for a quick getaway from the city but if you're looking for natural beauty there are much better parks around.

Nice Open-Air Figure Eight Loop
by dominoid on Aug 17, 2010
New Hampshire, United States
Hiking | 1.6 miles (17.0 miles away)
This is a nice figure eight style loop we like to take with our dogs. The trail as marked takes you three quarters of the way around an open field, a short stint on a wooded section of trial, skirts the edge of a quarry, and encircles a small pond. The field is reasonably low growth allowing the dogs to run wild as they see fit. There is also ample small wildlife in...

Hiking | 4.7 miles (4.4 miles away)
Beautiful day for a little hike around the water.  This is a beautiful area with well worn trails and little trash (once you get in a little ways.)  Not challenge, great hike for families (and for dogs.)(Sorry for the GPS trail starting at an odd point.  Had to reboot my BlackBerry again to get the GPS working, so I didn't start tracking until I reached the start of the trails, instead of...

Hiking | 4.3 miles (6.4 miles away)
March 21, 2010--Given that the temperature was fair enough, myself and a friend decided to head into Southern New Hampshire and tackle a smaller mountain or two. We ended up heading to Goffstown, NH to try our hand at hiking North Uncanoosuc and South Uncanoosuc. We had originally intended to to hike both without driving between them, but we missed a turnoff on our way down from South Uncanoosuc. We started our trip with South Uncanoosuc. We began our ascent...

South Uncanoonuc - Incline - Summit
by muchado on Sep 15, 2009
Mountain Base, New Hampshire, United States
Hiking | 1.8 miles (6.4 miles away)
My "go to" hike after work if I have nothing better to do.  Love the Incline for climbing - steep, but steady.  The Incline Trail is actually the railbed of the old Incline Railway that used to bring tourists up to the hotel at the summit.  The railway had two cars connected by a cable that worked a counterweights for each other - when one up, then other was down.  About halfway...
