Hiking | 2.1 miles (3.8 miles away)
Just a little walk from Lake George (Near Mammoth Lake in California's Eastern Sierras) to up to TJ Lake, passing Lake Barrett on the way. These are a couple of really beautiful lakes and are really worth the effort to go see. The trail is short, but quite steep in spots, but well traveled enough that you don't need anything more than tennis-shoes to get there.

June Lake, California, United States
Hiking | 13.3 miles (12.5 miles away)

That would have been...

A straightforward class 1/2 climb from the Bloody/Laurel saddle. It's a steep scree slog once you leave the trail but coming down is fun. The road to the trailhead is the crux - 4x4 with high clearance not just recommended, it's required. Along with the skills to use it.
