Kind of a grey day, with slight mist at times. Decided to look for deer, but ended up playing in a small creek, pretending to have magical powers, and getting muddy.
We have been watching this hawk nest for some time. Several days ago realized that the birds in the nest were the newborn chicks. The parents hunt the fields around the nest . The fields are home to various other animals including turkey vultures, coyote, deer, rabbit, and yellow-bellied marmots.
