Meetup hike; 17 persons attended; beautiful blue-sky weather; warm, hi in Pittsburgh was 86 degrees; probably around 80 degrees on mountain.
This hike was organized through the Pittsburgh Hiking Meetup Group and was led by Jim Ritchie. We had a very hot and humid day; high temperature in Pittsburgh was 88 degrees. Our group consisted of 13 hikers. The first half of the hike was downhill to the headwaters of Indian Creek, using first of all, two undocumented trails on top of Laurel Ridge, and then Mountain Streams Trail. This was a fun hike. We had to trail blaze a few times as some of the old trails have been destroyed from forestry work. I do not recomed doing this hike in the summer because when we were trail blazing we went trough a lot of Jaggers and thorns. They were mostly dead but they still have pointed jaggers on them.
