San Juan Loop Trail
San Juan Loop Trail
Lake Elsinore, California, United States (6.9 miles away)

Easy: 2.1 miles, 1 hour or less
Easy and relatively short hike. Yet, very beautiful scenes, and landscapes.

This is a easy and relatively short hike, yet offers a very complete experience. As the name says, it is a loop trail in the Cleveland National Forest, off of Ortega Highway. It goes through different portions of open trail and really old oak trees covered sections. You can enjoy views of landscape, a small waterfall in a gorge and go along the creek...
Chiquito Falls
Chiquito Falls
Lakeland Village, California, United States (6.9 miles away)

Difficult: 8.6 miles, Half day
A strenuous 9 mile out-and-back hike that visits two beautiful seasonal waterfalls in Orange County.

When you think of hiking in Orange County, you don’t usually envision dramatic waterfalls. But during the spring, there are a number of wonderful seasonal waterfalls that are just a hike away. One of my personal favorites is Chiquito Falls. This hike is a 9 mile out-and-back route with nearly 3,000′ of vertical elevation gain. And it’s a waterfall...
Lake Perris State Recreation Area
Lake Perris State Recreation Area
Perris, California, United States (15.5 miles away)

Hidden among rock-studded hills, Lake Perris State Recreation Area’s 8,800 acres of broad valley are bounded on three sides by low ridges. The Bernasconi Hills and the Russell, Apuma and Armada Mountains obscure the view of nearby cities. Inland, the San Bernardino, San Jacinto and Santa Rosa Mountains, snow-capped in winter months, stand tall in...
Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary to Springs
Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary to Springs
Modjeska, California, United States (17.0 miles away)

A good hike or bike UP a fire road to a seasonal spring

This is an almost all uphill climb from the Tucker wildlife sanctuary to the springs. The hike can be strenuous do to the incline. The spring is seasonal and a little hard to get to. The views on the way up are amazing. The trail is a fire road with no shade. If you hike on the weekend expect to see mountain bikers. The trail is wide enough I...

Hidden Lake Matthews runoff waterfall.

A nice short walk to a hidden waterfall.
Massacre Canyon
Massacre Canyon
Gilman Hot Springs, California, United States (23 miles away)

2.7 mile trail near Gilman Hot Springs, California

Massacre Canyon is about 2.7 miles long and located near Gilman Hot Springs, California. The trail is great for geocaching and normally takes a half day. From the road you don't have a clue what beauty lies just to the north. When the rains come the canyon floor will be impassable.
The Power House
The Power House
Norco, California, United States (23 miles away)

Easy: 0.4 miles, 1 hour or less
1900's hydro electric station trail

A short and easy trail that leads to a turn of the century relic and a graffiti lovers paradise.

Hiking | 8.6 miles (6.9 miles away)
This is a terrific hike that starts across from The Candy Store off of Ortega Highway. You follow the San Juan Loop trail past San Juan Falls, then climb steadily up and over a ridge and down to the remote Chiquito Falls. The San Juan Falls are often busy because they are so close to the trailhead, but few people make the strenuous hike back to the more dramatic Chiquito Falls. You'll...

This is the best little hike I found around here. You have to cross the stream a lot and if you go right after it rains expect to get wet.

Hiking | 21 miles (11.5 miles away)
Summary This 22 mile hike in the Cleavland National Forest area is a great winter training hike for Mt. Whitney or The Grand Canyon (rim to rim) when the local mountains (Gorgonio/San Jacinto/Baldy) are snow-bound . The highest point on the hike is 4510 feet above sea level. While it lacks the increased challenge of hiking at the higher elevations Gorgonio and the other peaks offer, it still provides significant elevation gain/loss and the...

Hiking | 3.6 miles (10.9 miles away)
Hiked this trail with the Augustines. The kids loved it. It's a pretty easy hike with lots of stream hopping, poison oak, and a bush tunnel. There were a few cabins at the start of the hike that would be great for those times when you want to get away.Overall it was very rewarding. The falls at the end were great. Crystal clear waters with a nice little pool that was big...

I used The Northface's Trailhead iPhone app to track the hike but the result was way off.  The actual hike was about 9 miles/4 hrs.  We started at around 9:30, spent around 1/2 hr at the falls for lunch break and ended at 2pm.  Definitely switching to a different tracking app next time!
