Nice walk outside Bristol Glen complex.
Rounding out a Great Weekend of Camping at jenny Jump Jump State Park with Family and Friends. We hiked the nearby Summit Trail for a little Geocaching and some great Vistas along the way. While a fairly easy Trail overall, the Dad's did complete the loop by walking back State Park Road to the cars and going back to pick-up the well-fed hikers.
12.4 mile hike around Cranberry Lake. Incredible view of the valley about 4 miles into the hike.

Friday May 4th
It rained in the morning for the 4th consecutive day. All of May! And
it was foggy for the third morning. Today the rain was over by 6:30 but
the fog lasted until noon. Then it got hot.
Today's bit of trail - about ten miles between Millbrook-Blairstown Road
and about a mile south of Brink Road Shelter followed the ridge with
lots of little ups and...

Official route of the Sussex Branch Trail, a component of the Liberty Water Gap Trail.
Nice, simple straight forward trail. Easy to moderate. Tried switching to the blue trail but it wasn't marked - couldn't find it for the life of us.
No views which was a bummer, but a great hike with its own personality, perfect for a beautiful day when you don't have more than 3 or 4 hrs to spare.
Another installment in my Rockaway Township ramblings reports.Parking is found just off of Greenpond Road in the lot used for the Bat Cave, Four Birds Trail and Split Rock Tail heads. The northern terminus of the Lower Hibernia trail is just across the street from this lot so lots of longer hiking opportunities abound.Me and my hiking buddy Goldie his it earlier to avoid the heat and did a nice figure eight...

This hike claims to be one of New Jersey's best and don't get me me wrong it is good. Not certain though that it is one of the best but Buttermilk Falls is certainly awesome.
This hike is strenuos for the first mile. Very steep climbing on loose granular rock and ledge.
We saw two groups of AT hikers on their way to Maine!
Another Rockaway ramble with my partner Goldie. This time to explore a little visited part of the Rockaway outback and Wildlife Management Area. Parking on the west side of Green Pond Rd. at a small turnout one heads west then a fast right turn and head North and UP. This trail relentlessly climbs about 400' in less than a half mile so this is a whole more of a workout than previous flatland...
I'm seeing now that this trail should be called the Beach Glen Trail since there is a tan blazed, named trail called the HIbernia Brook Trail that this connects to. This trail lower trail however is blazed in blue.Me and my grand doggie like to wander the trails in and around Rockaway Township.
This is the somewhat new Blue trail. It follows an old railroad bed along the Hibernia Brook. An easy meandering...
