The last time I hiked this trail was probably 25 years ago.  This time I went with the family (including our 2-year-old), and we made something of a round trip of it by going up Horseshoe, cutting right to survey the various campsites in Greenfield Meadow, then left on Mule Deer trail to cut back to Horseshoe for the return.  I took multiple pictures of many of the campsites so campers can...

Went hiking in Golden Gate Canyon State Park with the family, which includes our border collie and 2-year-old.  We were planning to take Mule Deer Trail all the way to Frazer Meadow to get to the same places we hiked to via Horseshoe Trail, but decided that we'd gone about far enough and stopped at the Aspen Meadow campgrounds for lunch and then a quick jaunt down to Dude's Fishing Hole.

If you've only got a few hours for a quick outing, this one's for you.  it takes a little while to head up from Denver, but not too long.  Don't forget your $7 for a day pass (boo).  There's plenty of shade over most of the trail.  You get up over 9000 ft, so you have quite a view to the SW and you can see down into the city from some...

Up Up Up, Fairly difficult trail, nothing to crazy. A little ice and snow. The only problem I had is losing the trail about three time.

This is a nice, moderate hike through forest and meadows. Steep in some sections, but doable for most. Went on this hike with the family, and my six year old little girl did the whole thing with minimal whining. Took a bunch of pics and stopped to smell the flowers, and it only took a little over two hours.

Took the boys, the wife and pshcho dog Bama on a great hike through Golden Gate Canyon State Park.  It's August and the wildflowers are still in full bloom in many areas of the hike.  Panorama Point also pointed out there is still snow on many peaks indicating how much snow we really had last winter for there to still be snow on them in mid-August.
